Working design documentation is based on terms of reference or project design documentation. It is the set of documents according to which a product is manufactured, inspected, accepted, supplied, operated, and repaired.
Working design documentation is prepared by a company, following the Unified System for Design Documentation – a body of national standards that establish interrelated rules for developing and issuing design documentation. The System delivers a unified approach to technical documentation, securing compatibility, clarity, and consistency.
Documents included in working design documentation must be sufficient for manufacturing, quality control, and operation of an item of defence materiel.
Working design documentation should follow such national standards as:
- DSTU V 15.902:2023 “Lifecycle Management System for Arms and Military Equipment. Documentation Management. Main Provisions”
- GOST 2.114 95.
A range of cross-border standards that cover design documentation requirements should also be used.
Note:
- Official editions of standards are contractually distributed by the UAS in its capacity as the national standardisation body at uas.gov.ua.
- Military standards and publicly available NATO standards (defence standards of NATO member states) are distributed free of charge. Catalogues of current military standards and NATO standards are published on the official website of the Ministry of Defence and regularly updated in the relevant section at mod.gov.ua/diyalnist/normativno-pravova-baza.
